Inside: The Childhood of an Artist
A virtual reality experience from director Sacha Wares, with music by Dan Jones and Evelyn Glennie.
For the first seven years of her childhood, American artist Judith Scott shared a bed with the twin sister who adored her. One night, everything changed.
This beautiful multi-sensory biography transports you to Judith’s childhood in 1950s Ohio, placing you at the heart of Judith Scott’s devastating story of love and separation.
With a team of five, All Seeing Eye worked for more than two years to capture, edit and recreate Judith’s world, from her family and home in Ohio to the institution in Columbus. Volumetric video, motion capture and photogrammetry are combined into a living, breathing place that holds her childhood.
Inside is an 18-minute experience for Meta Quest 3. It premiered at Bristol Old Vic from 1–8 October 2025, and was an official selection at CPH:DOX from 11–22 March 2026. A photo journal from the Bristol production is on the Bristol Old Vic blog, and the project is listed in the British Council UK Films Database.
